James (JT) Taylor

Business Advisor

JT Taylor is a supply chain advisor and educator with more than two decades of experience helping organizations design and sustain effective planning processes. He is valued by clients for his ability to combine analytical rigor, real-world implementation experience, and a teacher’s mindset.

JT’s first experience with Oliver Wight’s methodology was in 2003 as an employee of Johns Manville, when he established JM’s first Demand Management process. That was part of an S&OP implementation that delivered significant increases in inventory turns and customer service, while decreasing working capital. Since then, he has continued to work in supply chain and IBP as an instructor & course designer, process advisor, and technologist.

He has worked with global and mid-market organizations in consumer goods, food and beverage, durables manufacturing, telecommunications, and digital goods. His advisory work has supported improvements in demand planning, network design, inventory optimization, supply planning, and product management.

JT holds a Master of Engineering in Logistics and Supply Chain from MIT, where his thesis was “Managing Uncertainty in the Supply Chain.” He also holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Systems Analysis from Miami University and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
