Business Process Transformation Framework (BPTF)
BPTF Helps Prevent System Implementation Failures
Oliver Wight has developed a methodology to help companies succeed in system implementation by providing a framework for rescuing failed implementations and to provide a framework to rapidly respond
to business process change.
We call our methodology the Oliver Wight Business Process Transformation Framework.
Advancements in technology and an alliance with framework architect Value Chain Associates have enabled Oliver Wight to develop a reference library of business process designs based on the Value Chain Group’s Value Reference Model (VRM). We utilize the reference library in helping companies precisely define their business processes so that systems can be quickly and properly configured. This is not a cookie-cutter approach. We have utilized Oliver Wight’s brain trust of consultants and educators to develop the reference library. Then, we utilize our Proven Path approach to ensure successful implementations – an approach that has worked successfully for clients for over 40 years.
Here’s how our methodology works:1. People are educated on best practices for the business processes being designed or re-designed.
2. Process design workshops, facilitated by Oliver Wight, result in process work flows, definition of policies and procedures, definition of roles and responsibilities, and definition of performance measurements.
3. The process designs are presented in such a manner that they can be used by the system implementers and technology firms to precisely configure the system to support the business.
The reference library developed to support process designs makes it possible to complete this work in less time. Instead of starting with a blank sheet of paper, the best practice definitions in the reference library can be used by those who have completed best practice education to determine what should be changed to conform with your specific business process needs. The designs and definitions in the reference library are “tweaked” to reflect your company’s specific needs, saving considerable time.
